What happens to services in the wall?

Pipes, cables and ducts must be identified before demolition. Isolation and relocation need coordination with appropriate specialists.

Not everything is visible

A socket does not show the complete cable route. Old or unused services may still be present. Agree how the survey is performed and what happens when unexpected installations appear.

Plan the new routes

Consider kitchen, heating, ventilation and lighting together. Record who disconnects, relocates and checks each service and who closes the wall or floor afterwards. This avoids a gap between demolition and installation work.

Your checklist

  • Record visible connection points
  • Share the new services plan
  • Assign responsibilities clearly
