From preparation to completion
A profile name or opening width is not enough to select a beam. The engineer specifies the section, connections and bearings for the actual loads. Columns or additional support may also be needed. Discuss how the beam reaches the workspace, especially in an upper-floor property. Compare quotations for the complete scope: fabrication, transport, lifting provisions, temporary support, installation and finishes.

What affects the price?
Loads, span, support, access and finishes determine the work. A price for steel alone is not a price for the complete opening. Share your drawings and desired result so the quotation can identify included work, provisional items and exclusions.
