A connection is part of the design
Selecting a beam or column is not enough. Its connections must suit loads, material and geometry. The engineer and other parties agree how the details are developed.
Consider access and finish
A prefabricated assembly needs a suitable delivery route. Assembly in parts needs accessible connections at the right positions. Allow space for plates, bolts, welding and cladding. If the design changes, reassess fabrication, delivery and the programme. Compare the entire installed result, including checks and protective finish.
