Define the removal
Removing a surround, the chimney breast in one room or the entire stack above the roof involves different work. Mark what must go and what remains.
Check use and repairs
A flue may still serve an appliance or another part of the building. Discuss isolation with the relevant specialist. An apparently unused channel may still have a function. Specify repairs to floors, walls, ceilings and roof, including who handles the final finishes.
