From preparation to completion
A new extension has its own structure, but the opening also affects the existing house. Coordinate foundations, steel positions, roof and facade junctions. A wide opening without visible masonry may require a different solution from a smaller passage. The engineer assesses how loads transfer between old and new parts. Include temporary closure and repairs to the existing building in the agreements.

What affects the price?
Loads, span, support, access and finishes determine the work. A price for steel alone is not a price for the complete opening. Share your drawings and desired result so the quotation can identify included work, provisional items and exclusions.

Can the rear wall go before the extension is finished?
That follows from the execution plan and temporary structural design. Also agree on protection against rain, draughts and unauthorised access.
