From preparation to completion
A load-bearing wall may support floors, walls above or the roof. Removing it requires a calculated alternative load path, including connections, bearings and the structure below. The width you want is the starting point for the design, not a specification for ordering steel. Discuss the finished opening, any visible columns, access and repairs. In an apartment, include the building drawings and homeowners’ association requirements.
What we coordinate with you
- Agree on the opening and existing conditions
- Coordinate calculations and drawings
- Plan temporary support and installation
- Specify debris removal and the finished result
What affects the price?
Loads, span, support, access and finishes determine the work. A price for steel alone is not a price for the complete opening. Share your drawings and desired result so the quotation can identify included work, provisional items and exclusions.

Can every load-bearing wall be removed completely?
That cannot be promised in advance. A structural engineer assesses the opening and whether columns or additional support must remain.
