From preparation to completion
Wall thickness, material and joist direction may provide clues, but none alone establishes the wall’s function. Archive drawings can also differ from later alterations. Missing information may require a site visit or targeted investigation of hidden components. Gather the building age, alteration history, drawings and photographs. The findings provide the starting point for the new design.
What we coordinate with you
- Collect building and alteration history
- Review existing drawings
- Identify uncertainties and further investigation
- Record design assumptions
What affects the price?
Loads, span, support, access and finishes determine the work. A price for steel alone is not a price for the complete opening. Share your drawings and desired result so the quotation can identify included work, provisional items and exclusions.

Can you confirm it from a photograph?
A photograph helps explain the question but is not structural approval. The building must be assessed.
